Prior to joining NCSSM, Dr. Hector Rosario was a tenured professor of mathematics at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez (2003-2015). He is the co-founding director of the Chapel Hill Math Circle Links to an external site., an initiative that identifies and nurtures mathematical talent in children in grades K-12. He is the principal editor of the 17-nation anthology, Mathematics and Its Teaching in the Southern Americas Links to an external site. (2015), published by World Scientific Publishing, and the co-author of Math Makes Sense! A Constructivist Approach to the Teaching and Learning of Mathematics Links to an external site. (2016), published by Imperial College Press.

Hector holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics Education from Columbia University.
