Registration Information for Rising 8th grade students

Students can enter 8th grade course requests in PowerSchool from Friday, 2/14/2025 - Sunday, 2/23/2025. Students will enter the following course requests:

  - 4 semesters of encore requests (can be mix of Yearlong and/or Semester-long encores)

  - 2 alternates that are different from primary requests

         - NOTE: Students who request 4 Semester-long encores will choose Chorus + top encore choice for alternates

  - ELA course request

  - Math course request

Please remember that ELA and Math placement decisions will be made at a later date based on district criteria.

Kernodle counselors will come to social studies classes to help students enter course requests. Below is the schedule of when a counselor will come to your child's social studies class:

  - Thursday, 2/20/2025

  - Friday, 2/21/2025

If your child enters course requests with family before these dates, then the counselor will help review these requests with your child. If you would like to make changes to your child's course requests after 2/23/2025, please contact your child's school counselor
