- Priority right now: all teachers establish a username and password for each student in their class for the Unique Learning System. This will allow students to log in from home access can be monitored and lessons provided on their instructional levels.

- In order for your students to access materials a profile MUST be completed on this student. PLEASE go and create a profile for your student if you have not done so. This tool will be so helpful during this time of extended learning and profiles must be completed in order for students to have access.
- Maintain your canvas page with materials using ULS as well as other supplemental activities. You will need to be on Canvas daily as this is your connection to families. See the Canvas page within this tab for specific information to be included on your Adapted Curriculum Canvas page.
- Connect (text, email, Zoom, phone call, ClassDojo, etc.) with your families every other day/every day to make sure they are accessing Canvas. In addition make sure they are accessing the community resources and feeding information provided by GCS. Dedicate at least an hour daily using the method you usually use to connect with parents.
- Create a spread sheet of your students upcoming IEP/re evaluation/expiring IEPs dates so that you can continue to monitor and prepare.
- You can prepare 3rd quarter report cards/ progress notes addressing only up to the date we left school.
- Revisit the NC Department of Public Instruction Extended Content website to review grade level standards: https://ec.ncpublicschools.gov/disability-resources/significant-cognitive-disabilities/nc-extended-content-standards Links to an external site.. See the page within this tab (Extended Content Support Tools) for materials and resources that are valuable on the site. Grade level content is divided into an Excel document so you can print and mark off which standards you have addressed. This will help with report cards and future planning.
- Create work "tasks baskets" that can be utilized within your classroom when you return for independent work for students. Develop tasks that vary with materials and skill level. - Create file folder activities and adapted materials that can be utilized within your classroom for independent student rotations. TeachersPayTeachers is a great resource.
- Use Symbol Stix Prime (found on N2Y.com) to develop classroom schedules, individual schedules, and other communication materials and adapted books. Theses can be shared with parents via email, Canvas, or printing and having them available for pick up (with an appointment).
- Use N2Y to access your Core Materials (under Unique Learning Systems) to begin to create meaningful visuals to support learning within your classroom. You can also share these on your Canvas page when appropriate or extended learning continues.
